The Role
Herefordshire Council is looking to appoint a highly motivated Sufficiency, planning & Capital Investment Manager. This presents an exciting opportunity to improve educational outcomes for children and young people in Herefordshire by playing a major role in improving teaching and learning environments across the county.
As the Sufficiency, Planning and Capital Investment Manager you will run a small team and will ensure that there are sufficient quality school places and management of the school capital programme are appropriate to improve outcomes for children and young people. The roles will require liaison with colleagues in SEND, Business Analytics and Admissions, as well as schools and other partner agencies.
The successful candidate will use skills gained through academic or professional qualifications and practical experience.  They will have excellent communication, organisational and people skills together with experience of working on capital projects, preferably in schools or similar organisations. You will also have experience of data analysis and interpretation in order to write formal reports.
Although not essential, it would be advantageous to have a good understanding of the operation of schools and school buildings and the application of Department for Education Good Estate Management, Design Guides and Building Bulletins.
