Hooray is proud to be exclusively supporting a local charity to assist in the recruitment of a Suicide Liaison Officer to join their team on a part-time basis. The charity is dedicated to aiding individuals affected by suicide, aligning their efforts with local and national suicide prevention strategies, and adhering to best practices.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities of the role:

  • Assist in suicide risk assessments whilst providing immediate referrals or interventions when needed.
  • Create and develop support plans for a range of individuals experiencing bereavement, including continuous monitoring - including psychological support tailored to the needs of children and young people.
  • Support management team in collaboration with outside agencies including the Coroner's Office, The Police, and the NHS (Ensuring effective communication is maintained).
  • Facilitate and attend support sessions and drop-in sessions, with an emphasis on creating a safe and welcoming environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with and supporting vulnerable individuals.
  • A basic understanding and the ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
  • Be a compassionate and understanding individual, who is actively looking to improve the quality of life of others.
  • The ability to deal with challenging and intense situations whilst ensuring you are actively monitoring and managing your own personal well-being.
  • Prior experience with risk assessments/writing support plans (Preferable, however not essential).
