Supervising Social Worker Opportunity
Northamptonshire's Children's Trust's Fostering Team have vacancies for Supervising Social Worker positions.
Whilst still being a part of the Children's Trust they are also a stand-alone Independent Fostering Agency so are very special.
The Team provides support and supervision to our approved foster carers. They have amazing Public Health Funding currently helping to support our carers, children and to upskill themselves in wonderful training opportunities.
They also run the Duty system working with the Placements Team whereby children are placed with foster carers.
They have a number of specialist schemes including Family Link carers for our children with disabilities, Resilience carers for our young people stepping down from residential, Parent and Child carers for parent and babies as well as our other mainstream carers to support.
We have a third of our carers who are kinship connected carers.

What will you be doing?
The role is responsible for providing practical and social work support for children and families. This will include undertaking assessments, visiting children and their families, carrying out interventions, reviewing the work undertaken, direct work with children and families and any other work identified as necessary. All this must be based on best evidence and good practice, privileging the best interests of children.
About you
- You will be a registered Social Worker who can demonstrate experience and interest in meeting the needs of the children placed in foster care.
- You will be able to work closely with other colleagues within the Fostering Service and our children's service to support positive results.
- You will provide support and supervision to our foster carers and adhere to the National Minimum Standards and Fostering Regulations.
- You will invest in the life of the team and develop working relationships respecting others' strengths, celebrating difference and seeking solutions.
