Job Title: Supervisor-Analytical (QCL Shift Supervisor)

Job Function: Quality Control Laboratory

Job Type: Full Time – Shift Pattern (non-negotiable)

Job Description: 

Hobson Prior is seeking a Supervisor-Analytical (QCL Shift Supervisor) to join our clients Quality Control Laboratory team. This role will initially focus on Peptides manufacturing but will eventually extend to supervising the QCL Small Molecule shift team.

Responsibilities:

- Provide guidance, feedback, and administrative support to team members.

- Plan, assign, and monitor the workload for shift Analysts.

- Lead daily team meetings.

- Oversee training of shift Analysts on business processes and analytical techniques.

- Coordinate the daily activities of the shift team.

- Collaborate with Operations Supervisors, QCL Senior Managers and the Analytical leadership team to meet business needs.

- Act as a consultant for unexpected issues and work with Operations and Process Teams to resolve them.

- Oversee performance management planning, reviews and career planning for direct reports.

- Ensure high standards of safety and quality compliance in the area.

- Make decisions for the team and be accountable for the team's daily activities.

- Identify and resolve daily operational problems in the team.

- Adhere to Lean methodology and seek to improve productivity.

- Coordinate and oversee troubleshooting/investigations/corrective maintenance to ensure systems stay online.

- Responsible for authoring, reviewing and/or approving quality documents.

- Collaborate with Lab QA to ensure that Quality commitments are consistently adhered to.

- Influence management on key decisions impacting the team.

Key Skills and Requirements:

- Minimum B.Sc. (Hons) in Laboratory Science subject.

- In-depth technical knowledge of analytical work processes.

- Strong interest and passion for leading people.

- Excellent collaborative and communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

- Consistent performance in delivery and strong customer focus.

- Ability to address issues as they arise and act in a positive collaborative manner.

- Learning agility and flexibility, and ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty.

- Ability to be decisive and make well-informed decisions.

- Previous experience working a shift pattern is an advantage.
