A vacancy has arisen for a Supplier Quality & Development Specialist within our Plymouth, Devon, UK facility. This is an onsite role.

The successful candidate will report through the Supply Chain function and be responsible for developing the performance of new and existing suppliers.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Establish a working relationship with Suppliers and being the focal point for all supplier technical communications.

  • Hold the business to account for clear requirements flow-down.

  • Ensure purchased parts have been verified utilising AS9102 First Article Inspection and Manufacturing Process Reviews / product audits.

  • Drive NPI projects within Supply Chain, ensuring Suppliers’ production readiness by review of PPAP documentation.

  • Real-time management of Supplier requests (Process Changes, Deviations, Work Transfer).

  • Participate in Key Supplier Performance Reviews and contribute to Business Reviews.

  • Monitoring and guiding Suppliers through adherence to Aerospace Supplier Quality Requirements; identifying and mitigating risk.

  • Contribute to the onboarding of new Suppliers.

  • Work with Suppliers and internal Operations team to establish effective corrective action in the event of SUPPLIER QUALITY escapes.

  • Represent the views of the Business at Suppliers and the views of Suppliers in the Business at all levels.

  • Maintain documented procedures, processes, work instructions, supporting Process Maturity.

  • Ad-hoc Supply Chain engineering support as required.


Preferred Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will be qualified to degree level and have experience of working in a manufacturing organisation in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical or PCB Manufacture.

  • Having an understanding of 8D problem solving or Six Sigma methodologies would be a distinct advantage along with previous experience of working within a similar role.

  • Candidates will hold a valid driving license and be able to travel, predominantly within the UK, when required to support business needs. In addition, candidates will be highly motivated, effective communicators, capable of building good relationships with both suppliers and internal customers and enjoy operating as a member of a flexible team.
