Job Title: Supplier/ Vendor Quality Engineer

Overview:
My client is a leading OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) in the manufacture of X-ray Security Screening solutions committed to delivering high-quality products to customers and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. They are currently seeking a Vendor Quality Engineer to join the team and ensure the quality of the components and materials supplied by our vendors.
As a Vendor Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the quality of materials and components supplied by our vendors. You will work closely with our suppliers to assess, monitor, and enhance their quality systems, ensuring that they meet the highest standards. Your contributions will directly impact the overall quality and performance of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Vendor Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments and audits of potential and existing suppliers to evaluate their capabilities, quality systems, and compliance with industry standards.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain quality assurance processes, including the development of quality control plans, inspection criteria, and performance metrics.
- Continuous Improvement: Work with vendors to identify areas for improvement in their processes and quality systems and support them in implementing corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Quality Monitoring: Regularly monitor and evaluate supplier performance, product quality, and delivery timeliness to ensure they meet our quality standards and contractual obligations.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve quality issues by conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and tracking the effectiveness of solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of supplier audits, quality reports, and corrective actions, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
- Communication: Foster strong communication and collaboration with suppliers, internal teams, and cross-functional groups to address quality-related issues and drive improvements.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality materials and components
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain or a related field (master's degree is preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
