Supplier Quality Engineer

As a Supplier Technical Engineer for Rolls-Royce, you’ll play an integral role in ensuring manufacturing processes are safe and capable of achieving and sustaining the design intent, required production rate, cost and quality and are delivered on time to the business. This role also has the remit to monitor and investigate quality issues within the Naval Marine Supply Chain.
This is an exciting opportunity with a potential for growth, as you’ll work with cross functional teams whilst also working to advise management of the status of work and work to overcome potential production obstacles.
Key Accountabilities
Developing, implementing, validating, maintaining and continuously improving manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture which are capable of meeting and continuing to meet requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time through Quality tools.
Implementing and complying with SABRe Marine supplier facing Rolls Royce requirements.
Resolving technical and quality problems to prevent repeat occurrences and promote CI techniques to help suppliers reduce variability and achieve process control.
Investigating product complaints from Integrators and end Customers with pace to mitigate impact, containing the affected product, correcting the issue and preventing future issues.
Ensuring manufacturing processes comply with all legal requirements and customer requirements.
Working with interfacing teams, local experts, partners and suppliers to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes are understood and accounted for, as required.
Inspecting completed document packages for source inspection ensuring compliance to print and customer requirements.
Processing supplier print deviation requests with Program Engineering and pursuing root cause corrections with the supplier.
Conduct Supplier Quality audits (ISO 9001, SABRe) to ensure suppliers and their products/services are in compliance with Rolls Royce standards.
Maintain supplier database including certification status, quality control audits and performance evaluations.

What You Bring To The Team
An Associate’s degree with 6+ years of experience OR;
A Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer.
Excellent knowledge of ISO 9001 and FAI process
Advanced knowledge of quality tools, including but not limited to 5W, 8D, MSA, SPC, Process Mapping, Gap Analysis and Quality Systems.
Proficient in Inspection Methods (Measurement & Evaluation), GD&T, Pareto and Control Plans.
Solid understanding of best practices in Quality Assurance.
Self motivated, fast learner and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple and concurrent priorities.
Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
SAP experience
External supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment
Certified Lead auditor (ISO 9001)
Demonstrated ability to discuss both technical and business issues with all levels of management within the supply chain and Rolls-Royce
Experience bringing diverse groups together to resolve technical issues and problems and perform root cause analysis
Understanding of Naval component manufacture and assembly
ASQ CQE and/or Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
Ability to travel up to 25%
