Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes to supply our Force with the right uniform? This could be the perfect time for you to find out by joining us in our Business Services Department as a Supplies Assistant.


Our small and friendly supplies team stock over 350 items across various sizes and work hard to ensure our officers and staff members have the equipment they need to carry out their roles effectively. As a Supplies Assistant you’ll be an integral part of the team by ensuring uniform and stock items are stored and distributed. You’ll provide excellent customer service to visitors, both internal and external, whilst ensuring accuracy in the transfer of goods.


This is a busy role, where you’ll need to enjoy the daily challenge of juggling various priorities. On a weekly basis the team receive up to 30 deliveries and carry out approximately 100 appointments for all ranks and roles – so you’ll need to be ready for a challenge!



What you’ll do

  • Pick, package and issue stock and uniform.

  • Ensuring paperwork from deliveries is accurate and complete.

  • Use of a fork-lift truck to unload items safely.

  • Daily checks of the fork-lift truck to ensure it is operational and safe.

  • Check returned uniform items for future use.

  • Record transactions on Force systems.

  • Ensuring storage space is utilised effectively.

What you’ll bring

  • The ability to organise your time effectively and prioritise work using your own initiative.

  • Computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office.

In this role you will be required to operate machinery such as a forklift and pallet truck. If you already have experience, great! However – if not, we’ll provide the training on site.
