The Opportunity
Reporting into the Senior Procurement Manager, (Supplier Qualification and Development) and forming part of the overall Procurement Capability team within the UK, the Supply Chain Development Manager role provides an opportunity to make a tangible contribution to Procurement and Supply Chain performance. The role specifically supports our Electronics Warfare (EW) line of business, based in Capability Green, Luton, and will support a wide range of technically advanced projects.
What you'll do as a Supply Chain Development Manager
The role involves the application of structured Supplier management techniques designed to reduce risk or improve performance across the Procurement lifecycle, including;
-The promotion of a commitment to continuous improvement in and the development of our Supply Chains
-The identification of new suppliers to support NPI and the vetting of the supplier on-boarding process
-The implementation of best practice and compliance through a combination of support to local Procurement teams and working directly with our Suppliers
What we need from you
You will ideally have both Procurement experience and technical awareness along with familiarity with Supply Chain Development activities. Key to success will be the ability to develop good working relationships with all stakeholders within Procurement and adjacent functions across the UK. Good communication skills are essential. There will be a requirement to travel and visit the Supply Chain both within the UK and overseas where required.
