With a recent change in ownership, the company is embarking on an exciting new growth strategy, a key component of which is resetting its Supply Chain and operational platform.

About the job

We are seeking a dynamic Supply Chain Director with a background in retail merchandising (or FMCG equivalent) to lead the Supply Chain strategy at Harvey Jones. This includes procurement, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and the installation of our kitchens. The role focuses on ensuring top-quality products and services are delivered on time and at the right price, supporting the Commercial and Marketing teams to develop leading products, optimise margins, and increase market share.

The successful candidate will aim to create an efficient, agile, and cost-effective Supply Chain to boost customer value, sales, and profitability. Based in Cambridgeshire, we offer a full-time position with a competitive salary, equity potential, and the possibility of a hybrid working pattern.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute Supply Chain strategies to support company goals.
  • Optimize the manufacturing footprint through benchmarking and detailed analysis.
  • Manage outsourcing of contract manufacturing to ensure cost-efficiency and reliability.
  • Overhaul strategic sourcing and procurement to optimize supplier relationships and performance.
  • Redesign the UK manufacturing facility, considering layout, technology, and automation options.
  • Manage day-to-day operations in logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing to meet efficiency, productivity, and quality targets.
  • Lead the S&OP process for alignment and focus among stakeholders.
  • Support product and range development with merchandising and product teams.
  • Drive process improvements, standardization, and cost reductions.
  • Leverage ERP systems for better Supply Chain transparency and control.
  • Implement quality control measures and comply with regulations and industry standards.
  • Introduce lean and six sigma practices to improve service levels.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and innovations for continuous Supply Chain improvement.
  • Develop an optimal organisational structure and manage a high-performing team.
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance and manage facilities for showrooms.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a large corporate and SME, ideally in a PE-backed environment.
  • Director-level experience in manufacturing, procurement, sourcing, logistics, and warehousing.
  • Experience outsourcing manufacturing to overseas third-party contractors.
  • Willingness to travel, particularly to Europe.
  • Experience establishing S&OP processes and implementing ERP systems.
  • Proven leadership in transformational initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Preferably, experience in furniture manufacturing and knowledge of merchandising and product development.
  • Ability to manage heavy workloads, set priorities, and meet targets.
  • Resourceful, hands-on, and enjoys a fast-paced, non-political environment.
