A new opportunity for YOU as a qualified Supply Chain Manager at our client based in East London.
(MUST HAVE A SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT DEGREE)
REPORTING TO:
Finance Director
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Purchasing Manager
- Operations Manager
- Railtech and Europaite Factory Managers Workshop Manager and Stock Controllers Technical Specifier
THE ROLE
- Direct or coordinate production, purchasing, warehousing and distribution to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service and
- Examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution
- Direct the movement, storage, or processing of inventory.
MAIN DUTIES
- Review or update Supply Chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or
- Select transportation routes to maximise economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, and transport
- Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on Supply Chain
- Implement new or improved Supply Chain processes and meet with suppliers.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new
- Confer with sales department to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or
- Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of Supply Chain factors, such as product cost or
- Analyse inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimise customer
- Participate in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production
- Develop procedures for coordination of Supply Chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality
- Identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials to minimise consumption of new materials, minimise waste, or to convert wastes to by-products.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Engineering or a related field
- Degree in Supply Chain Management
