Supply Chain Space and Merchandising Planner
Summary
GBP38,500 to GBP45,100 per annum - This isn't an ordinary job. This is an extraordinary experience.
At Lidl, we are 'Big On' putting the customer first, and the primary goal of our Merchandising team is to maximise the use of our space to ensure we deliver a fantastic customer experience across our stores. The Merchandising team is looking for someone who is innovative, hard-working and analytically minded to help take our store layouts to the next level. The individual will be joining a team that is primarily responsible for creating and issuing store planograms to our 950+ stores across the UK. The role is at the heart of the Lidl business and is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to be entrepreneurial, experimental and make a real difference.
As a Supply Chain Space and Merchandising Planner you will have the autonomy to actively work on projects and ideas of your own which improve processes, maximise returns and drive forward the wider Supply Chain function. The role requires ongoing collaboration with several other departments across Lidl, and the requires one to present to senior stakeholders frequently, so excellent communication and presentation skills are a must. This role is ideal for a confident and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys responsibility and accountably, and a passion for producing stores layouts which excite our customers.

We have moved to a hybrid working model with a recommended 2 days in the officeper week for appropriate Head Office and Regional roles, empowering our teams to choose how and where they work best. What you'll do

  • Sole responsibility for developing and delivering merchandising plans across several sections, which maximise sales and to ensure customer centricity
  • Work with a diverse range of teams and stakeholders to understand customer shopping data and trends and develop new appropriate Merchandising concepts
  • Conduct regular range reviews with Buying and provide them with in depth Space and range analysis to help them make ranging decisions
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify category opportunities
  • Analyse data to optimise the macro store layout, ensure optimal micro space utilisation and monitor performance of new Merchandising strategies
  • Inspire store compliance and successful project rollout by providing accurate and timely communication across the business
  • Work on multiple projects, within and across departments, at any one time, from conception to completion, and present project proposals and outcomes to Senior Management
  • Scope for national and international travel. Actively participating in the Buying range review process, advising on Space and improvements for the Category

What you'll need
  • Proven experience in store retail and/or merchandising teams is essential
  • A creative individual who is passionate about making an impact upon businesses and its customers
  • Commercially aware with a broad understanding of the grocery market
  • Analytically minded - experience in collating and analysing large sets of data to identify areas of development and opportunities for improvement
  • End-to-end project management skills with a high level of organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience presenting to and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Pro-active and confident with the ability and desire to continually recognise areas of improvement and opportunities to develop new and efficient processes in Supply Chain
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Degree level educated or equivalent work experience
  • Full clean driving licence desirable
