Job description

At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 - 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

Role:

Reporting to the Supply Operations Section Manager and working within the Supply Operations Team. The successful candidate will be predominantly responsible for handling Retailer supply queries via email & the logistics phoneline. The role works closely with Retailers, the UK sales field team and the UK sales operations management team - playing a key role in our monthly sales objectives.

The Supply and Sales Support Department as a whole are responsible for managing the supply of new cars to the Retailer network, planning Retailer business objectives, sales analysis/reporting, as well as providing vital support to the retail and corporate field teams. The role therefore offers opportunities to gain experience of the manufacturer and Retailer relationship, as well as an insight into all aspects of the automobiles motor industry.


Main Responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for designated Retailer network region of responsibility.
  • Advise Retailers on all aspects of vehicle supply, including ordering and sourcing cars for sold customer orders, managing communication of any delays or changes to DADs (Retailer arrival dates).
  • Assist Retailers with any queries on invoicing, accessory costs, de-consign/re-consign of stock and damage charges.
  • Updating key stakeholders on stock movements between UK, Northern Ireland and Scotland, to ensure smooth delivery of new car stock.
  • Manage supply issues proactively, including liaising with third party suppliers such as transport companies and compound staff as required.
  • Monitor, block and order Retailer stock where necessary, to ensure crucial stocking requirements are met at all times.
  • Proactive communication of information to the Retailer network, sales field team and internal departments.
  • To act flexibly and responsibly within set procedures to ensure minimum inconvenience to our customers, whilst protecting the company’s assets and exposure to unnecessary cost.
  • Self-motivated in sourcing stock for Retailers/customers and upselling conversations.
  • Problem solving when unforeseen circumstances arise such as damages in transit.


Qualifications, skills and experience:
Required

  • Accuracy and attention to detail - to ensure correct information is shared to Retailers, the field team and management.
  • Comfortable handling challenging conversations in relation to delivery dates.
  • Team player - the ability to build relationships and work as part of a team to achieve the goals of the immediate supply team, department and overall automobile business in the UK.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task quickly and effectively.
  • Calm professional telephone manner.
  • Ambition to make a difference and go above and beyond.
  • Flexible to changes in procedures and workload at all times.
  • Strong PC Skills - particularly Excel.

Desirable

  • Experience in the automotive industry.
  • Experience using SAP
