ABC Teachers are seeking a versatile Supply Teacher with experience supporting students with additional needs.

You will be tasked with teaching multiple subjects and accommodating a wide range of needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, Physical Needs, Cognition and Learning Needs, Speech and Language Needs, Hearing Impairments, and Visual Impairments, adaptability and versatility are paramount. A Supply Teacher must have a comprehensive understanding of various subjects and strategies for differentiation to meet each student's diverse needs. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively conveying instructions and concepts in ways that are accessible to all learners, while patience and empathy are critical for building rapport and creating a supportive classroom environment. Flexibility in lesson planning and delivery allows for adjustments based on individual requirements, ensuring that every student can engage meaningfully with the curriculum. Collaboration with support staff, specialists, and caregivers is crucial for obtaining necessary information and providing appropriate accommodations. As a Supply Teacher for students with varying additional needs, you'll have the opportunity to work in a range of educational settings, including SEN schools, mainstream schools with dedicated SEN units, and alternative provisions or specialist colleges. These environments cater to students with diverse needs such as PMLD, ASD, MLD, SEMH, physical needs, cognition and learning needs, speech and language needs, hearing impairments, and visual impairments. Your role is essential in providing flexible and inclusive teaching, adapting to the specific requirements of each student, and ensuring continuity of education in a supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Qualified Teachers Status.
- Experience working with students who have Learning and Physical Disabilities.
- A DBS Check, or readiness to undergo a DBS check.
- You must have an understanding of different learning styles and how to implement individual support in accordance with the child's needs.
- Strong behavior management skills.
- You must be resilient and adaptable.
- You must have an engaging teaching style.
