We are currently seeking Two Support Officers to join our Supported Housing team. As a Support Officer, you will provide housing-based support to vulnerable, and disadvantaged individuals and families. Your role will involve delivering person-centered support that is flexible, outcome-focused, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each person and their children. This will include both planned and responsive support during working hours. This position is based in the Blackburn area.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities of the Support Officer:

  • Provide person-centered support to customers disadvantaged by homelessness, helping them maintain their independence, develop skills for future independent living, and improve their quality of life, well-being, and opportunities, based on individual needs and goals
  • Work closely with partners from other agencies and services to ensure customers receive comprehensive support, including improving their well-being and living safely, and reducing reliance on statutory services
  • Identify support needs and risks for a wide range of vulnerable customers, including those with complex needs or challenging behaviors, and develop personalized support plans
  • Maintain accurate records and documentations, including customer files, support notes, incident and accident records, and risk assessments

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a customer-focused environment
  • Knowledge of housing issues affecting vulnerable people
  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals and families or disadvantaged group
  • Satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Awareness of safeguarding issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances

  • You will be working 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday
  • You will be covering the Blackburn and Darwen area.
