Sense Scotland operates a Day Support Service located in the heart of the city of Dundee.
The day service is currently looking for part time Support Practitioners. Whist this is classed as a Day service the hours do extend up to and including 10pm. There is a degree of flexibility for the right candidate however the team work together on a rota system to ensure all hours are covered in line with the needs of the people we are supporting.
We are looking for dynamic and motivated individuals to work with adults of all ages who have a wide range of disabilities using a person-centred approach to understand and support people to achieve the goals that are meaningful to them.
Please note: This is a driver essential post and only drivers willing to drive the company car will be considered.
About the Service:
Dundee Day Support Services is registered under one branch within the Care Inspectorate covering more than one location - Support Service without Care at Home. The services operate from 8am until 10pm over 7 days across two bases in Dundee. All the adults we support have a learning disability and /or physical disability and complex communication support needs.
Our enthusiastic team pride themselves in assisting the people they support to live a full, active and independent lifestyles despite any challenges they face. Our services offer excellent facilities and opportunities for these individuals to be involved in a range of activities. Our team also provide a safe, warm space to meet up and socialise with their peers, all while receiving specialist therapeutic support.
Your job will be to provide a person-centred care package in order to meet the needs of the people using the service, including support individuals with their personal care, moving and assisting routines, support with non-verbal communication and sensory techniques, support the adults to have lots of fun and achieve goals within their life.
• The Hillview base offers a more therapeutic type of support using a base where there are activity spaces available to support on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis.
• Community Links is a drop-in space offering a place to rest, eat or be supported with personal care.
