Support Production Technician

Our global client based in Newbury is recruiting a Support Production Technician to work within their production team.

The position carries responsibility for supporting the Production Team, producing the eight monovalent Eimeria bulk antigens from SPF derived birds, in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), to meet demand forecasts and designated efficiencies. The role is a temporary contract initially signed off for 4 months offering an hourly rate of up to £16.00, plus 25 days holiday pay pro rata. The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Candidates must have their own mode of transport due to our client’s location and must not keep or live with chickens, game birds or fowl.

Duties include:

• Perform production and animal husbandry duties as specified in accordance with the planned Primary Production schedules. These duties may include any or all of the following:
  • Bird Husbandry
  • Cleaning of equipment and/or facilities which will include the use of power washers.
• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Process Operational Instructions (POI) within the Production Unit in the production of unsterile bulk antigens.
• Maintain safe working practices at all times within the Production Units
• Ensure that equipment and facilities are maintained to an acceptable standard.
• Ensure deficiencies are reported to Engineering, to ensure they are rectified in a timely manner.
• Ensure positive, timely and effective communication with team members and internal customers.

Skills and Experience Preferred:

• Experience in a regulated working environment.
• Experience with working with animals
• Good record keeping and a willingness to learn new skills
• Good inter-personal skills
• Driving Licence (Own Transport)
