Job description

We are hoping to recruit 2 members of staff to join our Facilities Team at Bridport Community Hospital.
1 role is 32 hours per week and the other is 31.5 hours per week
Both roles include weekend work which attracts a higher rate of pay.
This multiskilled role is working in a friendly hospital environment, covering a range of duties such as in the kitchen as cleaning, catering assistant, porter duties.
This truly is a varied job, where duties are planned around the service needs - very much a hands on role, cleaning inpatient and clinical areas, catering duties in the hospital main kitchen and porter duties, supporting the site with deliveries, emptying bins, cleaning toilets, waste removal and patient transfers.
Shift times for each vacancy are planned, such as 2-8pm, 10-6.30pm, there may be a need to change this pattern to work flexibly within the team to cover the needs of the service.
Additional hours are usually available to cover annual leave and sickness absence.
Working at weekend attracts additional enhanced levels of pay and you will receive a generous annual leave allowance
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
Catering– all onsite training will be provided, experience preferred but not essential. Supporting our catering service within the main hospital kitchen, the role will be a planned pattern of shifts over a two week period, working alternate weekends
Cleaning –duties across the site, working to NHS cleaning standards, as the cleaning rota requires. – weekly duties supporting the delivery of items throughout the site, working in clinical areas, such as the inpatient ward and outpatient areas.
Porterduties, collecting samples, receiving deliveries and supporting in unloading deliveries such as stores and catering deliveries.
A full UK driving license is essential for this role as you will be required to use the hospital vehicle.
For all duties, full training, support and uniform will be provided, shadowing current experienced staff to enable the successful candidate to become confident in their role
