We work in partnership with other agencies to provide a complete service to young people, aged 16 to 25, so that they are able to overcome their personal barriers and make more positive changes in their lives. We can welcome 47 young people at any given time across our six properties in North Kensington.
A day in this role looks like .
As a Support Worker at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Young People Service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.
A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:
- Experience of working with people with a range of different support needs, aspirations for their future and associated risks.
- Experience of delivering supported housing services to people with a range of needs and risks.
- Good knowledge of welfare benefits and housing options and legislation related to statutory duty.
- Knowledge of health and safety relevant to role as a Supported Housing Support Worker.
- An ability to undertake client-focused key working, support planning and risk assessments to maximise Service Users' independence.
- Good understanding of the range of issues, diagnoses, and treatment relevant to the client group including mental health and substance misuse.
- Commitment to equal opportunities and to promoting service users' rights, privacy, dignity, choice, and control.
- Ability to liaise with external professionals to inform and develop Service Users' support package.
- Willingness to actively engage in undertaking relevant personal development and training.
- Previous experience of using computer-based systems to accurately record work and client details.

- Deliver housing related support to young people and to inspire young people using the service to meet their needs and aspirations in education, employment, training or other areas of interest and value to the individual?.
- ?Improve each client's quality of life; prevent homelessness through promoting or maintaining independent living skills and appropriate move on?.
- ?Provide relevant support in accordance to the client's range of needs via support and safety planning and aspirations assessments and through one-to one keywork sessions?.
- Maintain accurate service users' records and all other records relating to the upkeep and maintenance of the service. This includes electronic based records on our organisational system?.
- ?Carry our Housing Management functions including the collection and management of rent, reporting of repairs and managing the beginning and end of tenancies/licences at the schemes?.
- ?Encourage and promote effective multi-agency working to ensure that the risks of services users are mitigated and that the needs and aspirations of service users are met to a high standard, including establishing close contacts with various communities, statutory and voluntary organisations?.
- ?Offer a clear co-production package including promoting events across the service, networking, fundraising, engaging in service users' consultation and facilitating involvement in the development and delivery of the service and organisation?.
