Support Worker - Children

On behalf of Bristol City Council, we are looking for a Support Worker to work with children and young people in residential homes.

This position will require an individual with experience of working with a range of complex needs which include severe learning difficulties, disabilities and challenging behaviour with additional impairments. We work with children and young people in groups that reflect the individual needs.

• We are looking for compassionate individuals with the capacity to connect with young people. While you will bring plenty of empathy to the role, you will also be able to set boundaries - so you will need to demonstrate patience and resilience.
• As our Support worker you will also need to find and use creative ways to communicate with children. You will need to be quick to learn, and willing to work flexibly and innovative to meet the changing and challenging needs of the children.
• We also need you be able to form trusted relationships with young people in your care by supporting them with their social and emotional development and educational achievement, whilst also setting boundaries and bringing consistency to their lives.
• NVQ level 3 or working towards is desirable, experience with children will also be considered if you don't currently hold this qualification.
  

You may also be required to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-in duties.

If successful you will be required to undertake Safeguarding of children training and an Enhanced DBS, the cost of which will be covered by Guidant.

PPE Will be provided if required.
