Our Client
Our Client is an 18 year old young man with significant Complex Care needs who lives at home with his family. He has a mischievous streak and although non-verbal, is able to make his feelings known with negative responses As a result of injuries sustained at birth, this young man’s care needs include the need for airway support, seizure management and the maintenance of his PEG feeding system. He is not independently mobile and there is a high level of manual handling required to fulfil this role, both for repositioning, implementation of therapy routines and for personal care needs.

Our Client enjoys the company of happy, positive people and although unable to speak, clearly enjoys the interaction of his family, friends and care team. He loves listening to music and spending time with his family and friends both at home and out in the community.
The Role
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join an established care team where full training is given to allow you to support this young man to live as full and comfortable a life as possible, enabling him to enjoy the world around him. The care team promote our Client’s independence and choices while ensuring his safety and comfort.
Our Client’s care needs mean that this is a demanding role but one which will be hugely fulfilling to the successful candidate who will, we hope, bring some fresh and creative ideas for outings and activities which may engage our Client’s interest. There is a requirement to undertake some client-related domestic duties.
The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills and be happy to work closely with our Client’s parents, his team of therapists and Case Manager, to ensure that his comfort and wellbeing are prioritised at all times. You will receive extensive training from the therapy team so that you are able to actively support the therapy programmes. Due to the complexities of the required care, it is vital that Support Workers maintain accurate care records, including medication charts.
This young man’s family and the team of professionals who work with him aim to promote his independence and choice, to ensure that he has a voice.
Available Hours
We are able to offer the flexibility of both full and part time roles as well as day and waking night shifts. The shift times are from 08:00 – 20:00 and night shifts from 20:00 – 08:00.
We would also like to add another bank Support Worker to the team.
Rates of Pay
Monday – Friday: £17.00
Saturday & Sunday: £19.00
Bank Holidays: 1.5 times usual weekday hourly rate
