Support Worker - Filton

£12.40 per hour + £500 Welcome bonus

77 Gloucester Road North is a 6-bed residential care home in Filton, which supports people with learning difficulties and physical needs.

We are looking to recruit a Support Worker who can offer a high standard of person-centred support and is able to work in a flexible manner, as part of a team.
As a Support Worker your responsibilities will include:

• To encourage positive self-image and maintain health and wellbeing.
• Assisting with decision-making and promoting independence.
• Support people to develop and maintain contact with family and friends.
• Provide access to the community, enabling the people we support to participate in sports clubs, social events and creative endeavours.

Our friendly staff team help the people we support to be as independent as possible and offer personal care as well as support with accessing the community. All bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom and our adapted kitchen equipment enables the people we support to make their own food and drink, encouraging greater independence.
The successful Support Worker will:

• Have excellent communication skills
• Have a caring manner and a tolerant nature.
• Ideally you will have some understanding of learning disabilities and autism and how this can impact on people’s lives and wellbeing, however this is not a necessity, as full training and support will be given.
• Be flexible with the shifts they are able to work, including early, late, occasional nights and weekends.
