Support Worker (Secondary School)

Support Worker (Education based), Luton - Permanent Contract

Due to this role being based in a school, applicants are required to have proof of right to work and if necessary a visa allowing work within Education.

Responsibilities:

• Provide invaluable communication support to students with diverse needs, including hearing impairments, speech and language difficulties, and other communication challenges.
• Utilise lip speaking and note-taking techniques to ensure students can effectively participate in lessons and access the curriculum.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and professionals to implement effective communication strategies for all learners.
• Foster independence and confidence in students by providing encouragement and support.
• Prioritise the safety and well-being of all learners, strictly adhering to school policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with young individuals with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Provide support and assistance to teenagers
• Demonstrate patience, kindness, and compassion in your approach.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Willingness to pursue training and professional development as required.
