Our Client & The Role
We are thrilled to be working with our long-term establishment client who is one of Northern Ireland's oldest Charities.Your role as an outreach Support Worker will include providing support for young people aged 16-21 who are living in aresidential setting that come through the care system and are dealing with housing issues.This role involves being part of a rota to include day time shifts, evenings, and weekendsShift patterns include: 08.00-15.00, 15.00-22.00 & 12.00-19.00.Salary: £11.46 per hour
Day to day duties:
- Engaging with young people to advocate for them and promoting confidence
- Assist in developing skills to live within the community
- Monitor progress towards agreed goals
- Plan and facilitate 1:1 and group workshops
- Promote independent living skills, i.e Cooking on a budget, maintaining a home
- Promote positive emotional and physical health.
- Liaise with other agencies (NIHE, Social Services, Educational Institutions, Community Groups, Training agencies,charities)
- Plan events with service users to align with Global days as appropriate.
The Person
- 1 year experience working with young people in a community or residential setting (previous volunteerexperience acceptable
- Excellent communication skills
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Demonstrated IT literacy
- Enhanced Access NI Disclosure
