Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance and support to individuals with multiple learning disabilities /complex care, including but not limited to elderly, disabled, or individuals with mental health conditions
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Help with meal preparation and feeding
- Administer medication under the supervision of a nurse or healthcare professional
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with mobility and transfers
- Monitor and report any changes in client's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Implement behavior management strategies as needed
Qualifications:
- Must be CPI Trained ( formerly MAPA )
-Previous experience in patient care or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of hospice care, nursing home procedures, and dementia care is a plus
- First aid certification is required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards clients
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and empathy
