Supported Accommodation and Inspection Officer, Grade 7 (£35,577 - £36,567pa)

12 month Secondment/Fixed Term Contract

The Role:

Supported accommodation is a growing sector in Croydon, we as an authority are looking to review all current providers of this type of accommodation in the borough to ensure that the quality of the properties provided are at an acceptable level and residents are living in clean and safe environments. As well as ensuring the council are getting value for money for the service being paid for through Housing Benefit.

We are setting up a multi-disciplinary team for a year to carry out these reviews. The successful candidate will be working alongside team members with adult social care expertise and housing benefit officers to ensure a full and comprehensive review of all the residents in the borough living in support accommodation.

The role will involve being out in the borough and visiting properties carrying out inspections and working with Landlords to ensure that any concerns with quality are resolved.

This is a new team with new roles and so there is an opportunity for everyone who is part of the team to work on developing the process to ensure the success of the project.

The position is a year’s contract.


The Person:

We are looking for someone with experience in HSRS assessments and a qualification in the Housing Health and Safety rating System.

They will be able to manage their work load and complete reports detailing findings, action plans and outcomes.

Knowledge of Supported Accommodation and the needs of residents in this type of accommodation.
