When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help children and young people (0-25) and their families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. Join us and your skills will make a real difference to the lives of young cancer patients.

About the role

Join our Central Supporter Engagement team as a Customer Service Assistant (known internally as a Supporter Engagement Assistant).

As a Supporter Engagement Assistant, you play a pivotal role in creating compelling supporter and customer experiences. You will be connecting with supporters and customers through various channels, ensuring that your interactions are not only seamless but also personalised. Your aim is for supporters and customers to feel valued and inspired to actively participate and champion our cause. Your role, in part, will be to:

  • Listen to our supporters and customers and provide appropriate, professional and empathetic responses.
  • Respond to and resolve supporter and customer requests, via phone, email, web chat and social media, whilst identifying opportunities to deepen engagement and drive income.
  • As the first point of contact, provide support to our fundraising teams by assessing the appropriate support required for supporters that contact us.
  • To provide outbound engagement calls to a variety of audiences.

This role is site based in the Bristol office and you will be expected to be in the office 5 days per week - Monday-Friday.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • A passion for delivering great customer or supporter experiences.
  • Experience in working with customers or supporters in person and/or on the phone and in writing.
  • The ability to build rapport quickly, are confident and are able to use initiative.
  • Have great listening and verbal communication skills and are organised with good attention to detail.
