Form of workWe are seeking a Sustainability Advisor to join our sustainability team, Ideally you would be based out of our St Albans, Hertfordshire office and will be required to travel regularly covering our projects in the south of the UK.
Purpose of role
In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability in the construction of our projects in addition to helping deliver against our 2030 Sustainability Roadmap.
The aim of this role is to improve our sustainability and environmental performance by working closely with our project teams and to replicate best practice identified across our portfolio of projects.
Key responsibilities
- Provide sustainability and environmental advice to project teams including delivery of appropriate training
- Conduct site inspections, maintain environmental compliance and provide assistance with external audits
- Identify and communicate environmental and sustainability risks and opportunities on our projects
- Assist in the development and preparation of sustainability management reports
- Assist in the maintenance and review of the sustainability management system
- Assist in providing sustainability input to tenders and project mobilisation
- Participate in working groups and initiatives to help deliver against our 2030 Sustainability Roadmap
Knowledge, experience and qualifications
The Sustainability Advisor will have:
- Between 1 - 3 years environmental experience ideally in a construction environment or similar
- Relevant degree and / or professional qualification
- Strong organisational, communication, influencing and engagement skills with ability to problem solve
- Flexibility to travel in the south of the UK
In addition, affiliate IEMA membership or above, internal environmental auditor and / or incident investigation training and experience with BREEAM / BREEAM AP qualification would be desirable.
