Working Hours
35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm but additional hours may be required. We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns. Our approach to hybrid working allows for up to 40% of time working from home and 60% working in the office, please contact a member of the recruitment team to discuss further.

Role Overview
Delivering on our commitments to Responsible Business, including sustainability, is one of the firm’s five strategic priorities.
The Sustainability Assistant will provide support to the Head of Sustainability, Policy and Strategy. The role will involve providing support on a wide range of sustainability work including liaison with operational teams, responsible business teams and fee-earners.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  • Provide support to the Head of Sustainability, Policy and Strategy on a day-to-day basis including:
  • Meeting administration including minuting meetings, creating action lists
  • Writing environmental communications and supporting in the organisation of sustainability events
  • Supporting in the provision of information to clients on carbon emissions and similar ESG projects
  • Sustainability-related research and supplier outreach
  • Data collection, analysis and support in emissions accounting projects
  • Strengthen, connect and coordinate with the global/US HL sustainability network
  • Support in the delivery of local office – to-global sustainability initiatives
  • Support in the production and completion of environmental reports
  • Support in the delivery of cross firm ESG/Sustainability education and engagement
  • Providing extra support across HL Global Responsible Business
Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services.

Person Specification
Skills and Experience
Essential
  • Law degree level or equivalent experience
  • MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint experience
  • Prior knowledge and keen interest in sustainability
Desired
  • Experience working in professional services
