The Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sustainability Graduate to join our innovative team. In this role, you will support our sustainability initiatives and help drive our mission to create a more sustainable future in fashion. This is an exciting opportunity for a two-year programme for someone who is eager to make a meaningful impact in the fashion industry.

Salary: £28,000 p/a

The Team

We started out as one brand with only three team members in 2006, today we are now made up of 13 amazing brands and counting, we have offices all over the world and we’ve grown to a 6,000+ strong team we call our boohoo family – and we don’t plan on stopping yet. What you’ll be doing

·         Assist in the development and implementation of sustainability strategies and initiatives across the company.

·         Conduct research on sustainable materials, practices, legislation and technologies.

·         Collaborate with design, production, brands and supply chain teams to integrate sustainable practices into our products and processes.

·         Support the monitoring and reporting of sustainability performance metrics, in line with our ESG strategy.

·         Participate in sustainability training and education programs for colleagues.

·         Help create content for sustainability communications and marketing materials.

·         Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, certifications, and best practices related to sustainability in fashion.

·         Participate in meetings to review business performance and identify areas for improvement

·         Assist with special projects and ad-hoc request as needed

·         Attend regular progress meetings with Program Leads/Buddies to ensure project work is on track

More about you

·         Recent graduate with a degree (2:1) or predicted grade in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Fashion, or a related field.

·         Strong interest in and commitment to sustainability and ethical fashion.

·         Knowledge of sustainable materials, practices, and technologies in the fashion industry.

·         Excellent research and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to present data to produce meaningful information

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

·         Experience with sustainability reporting and metrics is a plus.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant internship or work experience in Sustainability or similar field
  • Available to start October 2024
  • Looking to pursue a career within Sustainability
  • Motivated to pursue further study within a related field
  • Ability to communicate clearly and develop relationships with stakeholders across various areas of the business
  • Driven to deliver in a fast paced, dynamic environment with constantly evolving challenges

·         Demonstrates initiative and can detail learning from experience

  • Flexible to work across the Group -Distribution Centres (Burnley & Sheffield) / Head Offices – (London & Manchester)
