Sustainability Lead

Our client, who are leaders in their field and have an excellent reputation, are seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of Sustainability Lead. Committed to positive change and building a sustainable supply chain, our client believes that sustainability is a critical component of improving not only their own business performance but also their customers.
This is a full-time permanent position based in Horsforth, Leeds. Salary is GBP30,000 to GBP35,000 depending on experience plus excellent benefits including 23 days holiday + stats, generous bonus scheme and free on-site parking.
As the Sustainability Lead, you'll be instrumental in shaping sustainability strategy and driving innovative initiatives. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive change and reduce the environmental impact of the business and their customer s activities. You will be at the forefront of our client s sustainability efforts to implement cutting-edge solutions and inspire others to embrace sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of a sustainability framework, managing targets and KPIs effectively.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to refine the carbon reduction roadmap.
- Develop quantitative targets across departments and foster a culture of increased sustainability focus.
- Provide day-to-day technical support and internal training, ensuring all staff are well-versed in sustainability practices.
- Create engaging content for the sustainability knowledge hub, including whitepapers, articles, and social media posts.
- Drive the creation of our client s annual sustainability report.
- Support the sales team in effectively communicating sustainability efforts to customers.
- Bring forth innovative ideas and lead discussions on sustainability enhancements.
- Organise and facilitate company webinars on sustainability topics.
- Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability regulations and manage certifications and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address sustainability issues throughout operations, supply chain, and products/services.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Proven experience in sustainability strategy development
- Familiarity with sustainability certifications (e.g. EcoVadis, B Corp, ISO14001) and regulations such as the Plastic Tax and EPR.
- Passion for sustainability and a drive to effect positive change.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Well organised and a confident demeanour
