Sustainability Manager

The Role:

• Develop and implement comprehensive environmental action plans aligned with ISO14001 standards.

• Stay informed about relevant environmental and sustainability regulations to ensure compliance with all laws and standards.

• Assume responsibility for ensuring that the company stays on track for its carbon net zero targets.

• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for waste reduction, recycling, and sustainable practices.

• Lead efforts to integrate sustainable development principles into print procurement processes.

• Collaborate with the client services team to influence and align print procurement with environmental and sustainable factors.

• Support the sales team and Bid manager in winning new work by providing expertise within the ESG category for sales opportunities and tenders. This would involve attending customer presentations, contributing to tender and presentation content and ensuring the company remains at the forefront of ESG within the industry.

• Work with the marketing executive to promote the companies achievements in ESG through various media channels. • Work with the Procurement Manager to evaluate and select suppliers based on their adherence to environmental policies, including FSC/PEFC or ISO14001 accreditation.

• Monitor the Vendor Management System to ensure over 80% of work is procured from SMEs.

• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with the company’s ethical and sustainability standards.

• Ensure that suppliers adhere to the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility including compliance with employment standards, non-discrimination, and freedom of association.

• Work with the Procurement Manager and conduct periodic audits of supplier facilities to verify compliance with ethical and environmental standards.

• Manage and maintain the company’s Gold EcoVadis rating, ensuring continuous improvement in sustainability performance with a target to attain Platinum status by 2025.

• Lead the work towards continued certification to ISO14001 and any other applicable accreditation.

• Collaborate with relevant teams to address sustainability criteria outlined in the EcoVadis assessment.

• Implement and manage the company’s RISE initiative, focusing on Respect, Innovation, Sustainability, and Empowerment.

• Take responsibility for the preparation of regular reports on the company’s sustainability performance, including IMPACT reports to customers, outlining the positive environmental and social value achieved through the RISE principles.

• Identify training programmes, and if applicable develop and delivery training to educate employees on sustainable practices to help create a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility.

• Explore and establish partnerships with relevant organisations and pursue certifications to enhance the company’s sustainability credentials.

• Manage budgets related to sustainability initiatives ensuring the most cost-effective implementation of projects.

• Document positive case study examples of sustainability activities which can be used in relevant marketing collateral and communications.

• Ensure central records of applicable sustainability and environmental activity are accurate and complete.

• Spread best practice throughout the company on ESG policies and introduce innovative solutions to further enhance our positive action in this sector.

• Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required.
