We are seeking a Synthetic Organic Chemist at PhD level or equivalent for our client on Alderley Park. They are an established drug discovery business who are hiring for new projects and this is a fixed term contract for 6 months, depending on future needs this could be later re-evaluated to longer term.

What you’ll do:

You will be working in the synthesis of medicinal targets which will take the form of milligram to 10’s-of-grams of synthesis volumes. This will be library synthesis and for-service chemistry projects. The role will form a key part of the drug design process, and at the bench you will be doing route work on heterocyclic chemistry, cross coupling and making changes to generally make elegant routes to target molecules.

Your background:

We are seeking a candidate qualified to PhD or potentially equivalent level of experience plus degree. You will be experienced in a range of synthesis routes and processes and join with a strong base knowledge of Organic Chemistry to bring to the role. We are seeking someone who is able to contribute ideas to the development of new drug products and who will make a difference to key projects in the business. This all calls for good communication, teamwork and time management skills.
