Job description

Role: Building Maintenance Technician

Department: Estates & Facilities Management

Location:  Sheffield

Salary: £23,121 - £24,921

Hours:  37      

Contract Type: Temporary for 12 months

We are looking for a Building Maintenance Technician to join our Estates & Facilities Management Team on a temporary basis for 12 months.

In this role you will:

  • Assist the Building Engineering and Management team in the maintenance of properties, plant and equipment
  • Provide cover for the Assistant Building Engineer
  • Undertake regular maintenance of drainage systems
  • Undertake boiler cleans and 'ashing' out of commercial solid fuel boilers
  • Receive deliveries of petrol and diesel as per the Petroleum Regulations
  • Undertake/assist in cleaning of buildings, litter pick and sweep service yards, parking areas, entrances and external waste receptacles
  • Dispose of confidential/wastepaper & canteen waste.

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of dealing with commercial / industrial / public sector buildings, plant and equipment
  • Have a full Manual UK Driving Licence and the ability to pass a police driving test
  • Ability to travel within the South Yorkshire police area, a driving licence is required and willing to use your own vehicle for work purposes if a force vehicle is not available

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
