We are looking to recruit a Commercial Support Assistant to work as part of a team to deliver value for money outcomes through, effective business and supplier liaison, purchasing IT products and services, following commercial assurance processes administering asset management procedures.
As a Commercial Support Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Acting in accordance with Financial Regulations and Financial Instructions, procedures, and guidelines at all times.
- Triaging incidents, service requests and team mailboxes to team members.
- Validating purchase requisitions to determine compliance with Standing Orders.
- Maintaining Contractor records; matching / validation of time sheets; checking that approved spend is not breached.
- Transferring/translating technical request to obtain supplier quotes; checking and comparing quotes to identify best price/value for money.
- Raising purchase orders for goods and services using appropriate ledger (HP/SYP/Collaboration
- Receiving services, goods, and visitors IS.
- Resolving billing/invoicing queries.
- Undertaking asset recording (Sostenuto) and stock taking (supporting Asset role).
- Handling supplier, customer and general enquiries including budget code enquiries, liaising with Corporate Finance and provide assistance as appropriate.
- Booking travel and accommodation.
Skills and experience required for the role:
- Previous experience of asset (stock) control
- Previous administrative experience.
- Computer literate including use of Microsoft Office, Outlook or similar and the internet.
- Able to deal with internal and external customers effectively, providing responsive and appropriate levels of service.

Eligibility:
Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
