Role: Lead Analyst (Network/Telephony)

Department: Information Systems

Location:  Melton

Salary: £40,950 - £45,546

Hours: 37      

Contract Type: Permanent

As a Lead Analyst working in a busy IT department, your role will be to manage a team of specialists across South Yorkshire and Humberside Police for the successful provision of the network and data telephony requirements.

You will have ownership of the technology associated with the network and telephony function across both forces and you will deputise for line managers as part of the role.

If you have experience and understanding of Network Hardware Technologies and you have the ability to coach, mentor and develop staff, this could be the ideal role for you.  In addition, you must have the ability to travel as information systems is a collaborative function between South Yorkshire and Humberside Police Forces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of highly skilled network professionals.
  • Oversee technical projects in alignment with organisational goals
  • Implement operational processes to increase efficiencies, which will meet and/or exceed client expectations.
  • Develop and maintain an expert knowledge of IT footprint and other IT systems and drive improvements to service quality/customer experience.

Skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and ability to utilise network technologies such as TCP/IP, MPLS, Client VPN and WAN VPN, WAN, LAN, VLANs, QoS, Multi-Cast, Telephony and VOIP, Penetration Testing
  • Knowledge of licence and asset management.
  • Knowledge of Web Service, Security Certification and SSL technology
  • Ability to travel (between Humberside Police and South Yorkshire Police).
  • Hold a relevant degree or proven experience of working at industry standard level.
  • Ability to manage and supervise staff.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
