Role:                Programme Support Officer

Department:    Information Technology

Location:         Melton/Mossway, Sheffield

Salary:             £29,874 - £33,915 (pro rata)

Hours:              22.5      

Contract Type: Permanent

 

The successful candidate will work as part of the IT Project Management Office team to plan, coordinate and support the implementation of request for change relating to the IT programme of work in line with strategies and business requirements and perform other project related tasks and duties as required in relation to this programme of work.

The individual will also be required to undertake business administrative, procurement and finance administrative tasks in support of the identified work-stream as required, such as arranging and participating in meetings, preparing minutes, updating and publishing documentation. A key function of the role will be to assist the Projects IT Technical Lead to ensure specific dates and project milestones are recorded and achieved. Ensuring key deliverable dates are published within the IT Function and their completion success monitored and reported on to key stakeholders, one regular and ad-hoc basis.

The successful applicant will be responsible for creating, accepting and progressing project work packages and working closely with the Projects IT Technical Lead to ensure delivery of products and process change, provide support to the IT Project Management function as requested by the Team Leader. They will also directly support and deputise where appropriate for the IT Technical Lead.

It is anticipated that the individual taking up this post will have a good understanding of systems policies and procedures, a good overall knowledge of Microsoft Office and the function of an IT Service. The ability to manage a complex calendar and delivery schedule, advising IT Management of any anticipated delays and or programme related issues,

Previous experience of supporting a large-scale IT delivery Project would be advantageous.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
