What You'll Bring:

Summary of the role: Your role will entail preparing for and performing release activities across the Decisioning Route to Live (including Production). These releases are done out of core business hours so you are expected to be flexible in order to facilitate and support these releases.

Core Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the design and configuration of changes to existing hosted services delivered for our existing Decision Strategy customers.

  • Provide consultancy on client volumes against server capacity requirements in early stages of project design and where likely changes to volumes are notified

  • Support the definition of processes to set up and maintain client bespoke data source look-ups

  • Own the communication with clients around web user set-up and single sign-on set up to ensure guidelines are followed by the client

  • Validation of parameter changes.

  • Undertaking of implementation activities for core DE AQM product releases.

  • Process deployment - promotion, testing and validation through dev, UAT, pre-prod and prod

  • Undertaking of implementation activities for AQM localisation updates.

  • Undertaking of implementation activities for AQM client deployments.

  • Process deployment - promotion, testing and validation through dev, UAT, pre-prod and prod.

  • Set up accounts for clients to access the service.

  • Configuration of client specific alerts to individual client solutions.

  • Assess and support Operations service change requests.

  • Configuration of client specific dashboards.

  • 2nd line support of client and localization non-functional configuration issues/defects/queries.

  • Provide technical support to internal project teams in preparation for and during the implementation phases of the project.

  • Provide input to project technical solution design and support agreed project plan implementation milestones.

  • Resolve questions and problems directly through individual efforts or by triaging problems with Solutions Analysts and Technical Delivery Consultants.

  • Support quality assurance management and testing activities relating to Implementation phases.

  • Provide switching as required between bureau and simulators during UAT phases.

  • Attend meetings with project teams and any other 3rd party providers where necessary.

  • Interface between Application Support and Delivery teams.

  • Infrastructure projects and upgrades.

  • Peer review RFC's.

  • Provide operational and technical support for software releases and third line support for live software.

  • Contribute toward the improvement of continuous deployment process by designing and developing best practices for continuous deployment.

  • Contribute to and evangelise community best practices.

  • Independently analyse and solve complex problems where a precedent may not exist.

  • May also include travel to other TransUnion sites and unsociable hours providing support with releases.

Experience:

  • Experience working in a software development, build or release engineering capacity.

  • xperience working under DevOps, Agile, Scrum, Kanban processes and methodologies.

  • Familiarity with use of source control including branching, workflow, peer reviews etc.

  • Experience of High Availability / Disaster Recovery technologies.

  • Several years experience creating and managing automated CI/CD build and release pipelines.

  • Good hands on working knowledge of MS SQL Server (Installation, optimisation, operational support and TSQL).

  • Good understanding of data and databases.

  • Working knowledge of XML, SOAP and Stylesheets.

  • Experience of working with Web Services in particular Internet Information Services.

  • Understanding of System configuration.

  • Understanding of Testing processes.

  • Experience of scripting technologies including PowerShell.

  • Experience interpreting technical designs.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills to identify root cause and permanent resolution

  • Excellent documentation, interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.

  • Excellent communication and English language skills, with the ability to collaborate with teams across the world

  • Ability to prioritize workloads, manage time effectively, multi-task, work on a team and independently, use analytical skills and work with a variety of personalities.

  • Willingness to learn and embrace industry developments and practices from both a Development and Operations background.

  • An understanding of the ITIL framework.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and within defined deadlines, with minimal supervision as well as being a team player.

  • Must possess a “I can do” mindset.

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner certified.

Working Pattern

Our work style for this position is ‘hybrid’, which involves spending 40% of your working week at one of our office sites so you’ll need to live within a sensible commutable distance from our office. We’re happy to talk flexible working.
