I am working with a higher education facility as they embark on and exciting programme of work to review and improve their student record system. This is an exciting opportunitiy to join the team and play a key part in the successful delivery.
Although this is a permanent opportunity, I would be interested in speaking with contractors with relevant experience in this field who might be available as an interim solution.
The role holder will be responsible for the oversight and management of the student record systems (SITS) and deliver and develop a customer focused, cost effective solution delivery service that supports the strategic direction of the setting. They will also be responsible for the development and delivery of release management solutions to support SITS and key in ensuring that appropriate efficient and effective releases at each of the relevant stages of the SITS software development lifecycle.
The System Manager role is key to ensuring system management strategies, documentation/resources and system structural integrity is developed, maintained and delivered across multiple operating environments within the project enabling a smooth transition into business as usual.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Ideally qualified to degree level (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge/experience of waterfall and agile project methodologies
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/Powerpoint and databases
- Experience of Agile software development
- Analysis, interpretation and reporting on data
- Demonstrable use of system testing skills and understanding of system data structures
- Experience of working independently and as part of a larger team
- Experience in effective release and environment management
- Experience of Tribal SITS and e:Vision (desirable but not essential)
- An understanding of the UK Higher Education corporate systems
- Environment management within a complex systems architecture
