Great career opportunity for an experienced Systems Administrator to join a globally renowned automated equipment supplier and become a pivotal part of the UK team.
As a Systems Administrator, you will work in a small UK team, and be part of a larger global help desk team with the responsibility of supporting customers all over the world with their Server, Network and Storage issues and problem resolution.
Training will be provided (possibly some in Germany) and there is future career potential for the right individual, a good understand of remote server and network support will be required to be considered.
Benefits:
- Salary c£40k - £45k dependent on experience
- Shift based role – Mainly Mon to Fri earlies, lates and nights, occasional weekend required. Some flexibility to choose which shifts in which week, and time off in lieu taken for night shifts so you can build more leave
- Office based role, but once knowledge is up to speed, some night shifts can be done from home when suitable
- Pension 3% employee, 6% employer
Key Tasks of Systems Administrator:
- Provide remote support for server and network issues across various customer sites
- Operational administration and configuration of high-availability server systems
- Offer second level support for servers, storage and networks
- Conduct error analysis and troubleshoot server systems
- Monitor, configure and maintain servers and storage hardware (SAN, RAID etc)
- Problem solving with third-party providers (Microsoft, Dell, HPE, VMware)
- Participate in customer and internal meetings
- Works within an international team to ensure maximum system uptime and performance
Qualification / skills requirements of Systems Administrator:
- Ideally hold a degree in Computer Science, IT engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar role
- Minium 2 years experience with systems support within a Windows server environment, preferably in a 24/7 setting
- Knowledge in virtualisation environments, storage infrastructures and backup solutions
- Knowledge of Active Directory Services, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy Management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Failover Clustering, Remote Desktop Services, monitoring tools, and patch management is desirable
- German language skills would be highly desirable, but not essential
