Founded in 1963, Action Mental Health (AMH), is a registered charity which actively promotes the mental health and well-being of people in Northern Ireland. A range of support services are available with programmes targeted across the age-span, from 3 years to older people. Our mental health services are aimed at supporting recovery and building emotional resilience and wellbeing. These are delivered through specific programmes with a focus on personal and health development, vocational and employment training, talking therapies and resilience building.

Although AMH is a regional organisation delivering services across all of Northern Ireland, we are also involved in cross border programmes funded via the EU with partners in Ireland, Spain, Italy, Germany, Finland and Sweden.

Since its foundation, AMH has emerged as the standard bearer within Northern Ireland’s Third Sector – helping to smash the stigma of mental illness for all sections of the community.
