Morrison Water Services Ltd are currently looking to recruit a Delivery Manager. Working on our Scottish Water DV2 Framework working across a wide portfolio of projects. The role is based in our Stepps, Glasgow office reporting to the MWS Head of Operations and will involve travel to sites as required. The UK’s largest provider of essential infrastructure services through long-term framework agreements to the electricity, water, and gas sectors across the UK & Ireland.
The MWS Scotland region currently delivers a number of frameworks for Scottish Water including the Infrastructure Capital programme and the MEICA replacement operational alliance DV2 Lot 4 (this role). In addition, IDS deliver further specialist frameworks for Scottish Water as well for a portfolio of non-regulated clients. The business is currently at c. £130m p.a with further growth planned.
The DV2 Lot 4 MEICA replacement framework is a 6-year programme (2021-2027) with an option to extend for a further 6 years. The contract delivers a diverse range of design & construction projects (£100k - £4m) including the replacement of MEICA equipment, associated civil engineering works, specialist control & automation, SCADA and telemetry works. Annual volume £25m-£40m.
The M&E Delivery Manager will be responsible for the safe delivery of their Projects whilst achieving commercial expectations. A key part of the role will be establishing a strong relationship with Scottish Water, both at Project level and within the Framework.
You will be a key part of the MWS Management Teams and will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of Framework and support on key issues as they evolve.
This new position is a Scottish based role.
As the M&E Delivery Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Working within a multi-disciplinary team on projects focussing primarily on water & wastewater M&E capital maintenance and growth projects
- Accountable for M&E programme delivery and managing the team.
- Accountable for the M&E programme margin (gross)
- Attend and contribute to internal and external reviews and progress meetings.
- Participate in collaboration meetings with other engineering disciplines and professionals.
- Review of contracts & specifications.
- Procurement and support for subcontract procurement based on detailed specifications.
- Record and review all project information.
- Continual professional development including professional registration is encouraged and actively supported.
- Work closely with the PMO team to ensure delivery programmes are in place and progress is monitored.
- Drive Risk management for the Projects.
- Provide leadership and guidance on technical and contractual matters to ensure timely resolution.
- Preparing progress reports for the MWS senior leadership team
- Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties and support the long term MWS business plan.
- Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions.
Skills & Knowledge requirements:
- Experience in water industry would be advantageous
- Computer literate with a good understanding of appropriate software packages
- Knowledge and skills in the in the planning, specification, design procurement and commissioning of projects
- A good financial background in relation to projects
- A good Knowledge of NEC4 contracts
- Possess sound knowledge of current legislation and able to work in accordance with QA and H&S procedures
- Able to integrate well into a team as well as work independently
- Experienced level of decision making and ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands.
- Strong communication skills all levels with the client, suppliers, contractors and design team
- Must be able to plan and prioritise workload effectively
