Systems Engineer

IT Services seeks to recuit a Systems Engineer to join the Servers and Storage team. This team is part of a larger Infrastructure Services division responsible for providing and maintaining a variety of core service environments crucial to the business of the University. These include Active Directory, VMware, Web infrastructure, Backup, MS Exchange email services, Citrix VDI, SAN Storage, Azure and O365. The role holder will work within the Servers and Storage Team to support and maintain customer focused provision of these systems using the latest technologies. The team manage BAU and project work as required, liaising with stakeholders across the organisation on large scale projects to assist in the development and delivery of new and improved services. A service driven operational focus on resilience, proactive maintenance, upgrades, compliance and system security is key to the role in addition to working within standard service delivery best practices, such as the ITIL framework. We require an enthusiastic individual with a passion for the job.  You must be self motivated, capable of working unsupervised but also able to work closely with colleagues both in and outside of the team.
