Systems Engineer (Linux Cloud) Cambridge / WFH to £55k

As a Systems Engineer you'll have a broad scope of responsibilities providing technical support for colleagues within Engineering and Machine Learning Research within a modern GCP cloud environment. You'll seek to automate wherever possible using scripting and tools such as Terraform and Puppet, build infrastructure for internal research activities, provision IT equipment and provide support for internal users' IT issues. Collaborating with the platform, you'll ensure that monitoring and alerting is in place for critical systems and help to protect infrastructure and data from cyber threats within an ISO27001 environment.
There's a range of technology within the stack, you'll be supported to pick things up on the job in a collaborative team environment.
Location / WFH:
You'll join the team in Cambridge on a fulltime basis Monday to Friday, close to the station, parking available.
About you:
- You have a broad range of technical knowledge
- You have a strong knowledge of Linux and can script with one of the following: Python, bash, PowerShell, Perl, PHP
- You have experience with cloud technology, they use GCP but AWS or Azure experience is also fine
- You have an understanding of Automation and IaC and tools such as Terraform and Puppet
- You have an appreciation of security e.g. ISO27001
- You have strong analysis, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- You're collaborative with great communication skills
