ES Broadcast is a leading provider of equipment sales, equipment rental and systems integration services to the professional broadcast industry, as well as to the live events, e sports, corporate and government sectors.

The company is part of the ES Media Group, which also includes divisions in the cinema equipment rental (Film Store Rental) and library migration and content services (Memnon/LMH) industries.

The HR function provides services to all companies across the ES Media Group in UK, Europe, New Zealand and USA.


PURPOSE OF THE ROLE


The Systems Project Engineer (SPE) role forms part of the system integration team responsible for the detailed design, installation, and delivery of the broadcast systems, as well as operational and other technical elements required for our projects. A SPE manages the end-to-end design, installation, and configuration of equipment, along with completion of testing, detailed design documentation and handover.

The SPE is also responsible managing the equipment and materials budget in line with project scope, supervision of wiring teams, client communication and assistance with any enquires they have regarding the information pack from initial scope to final client sign-off. The SPE is also involved in the overall efficiency of the Systems Division with process and project reviews, tracking lessons learnt’ during and providing feedback in the review sessions.


POSITION TITLE: Systems Project Engineer

LOCATION: Peterborough

DEPARTMENT: Engineering

WORKING HOURS: 9am to 6pm

REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager


JOB DESCRIPTION


Supplementary tasks to the role are varied and include managing stock ordering master sheets with quarterly updates, assisting with material for marketing following each project and on occasion providing Pre-Sales assistance to the Proposals team.

The SPE role can include working away domestically and internationally. These periods are dictated by each project, varied in duration but often short and may include repeat trips. The role requires experience in systems delivery and experience of managing teams in an agile manner, remaining calm under pressure, ensuring a successful project delivery, whilst being aware of expenditure.

  • Reports To: Engineering Manager
  • Instructions from: Engineering Manager, Projects Manager & Directors
  • Liaises With: Client, Sales, Project, System Admin & Warehouse Teams


DUTIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Client main point of contact
  • Project timeline and budget management
  • Lead initial systems design conversations with customer from Proposals scope
  • Detailed Systems Design
  • Equipment installation, management of configuration and testing
  • Advising admin staff on equipment purchasing requirements
  • Prebuild and materials purchasing list generation
  • Wiring team Supervision
  • Progress reporting, internal and client facing
  • Creation of Change requests and Variations
  • Supervision of additional Engineering staff
  • Completing Acceptance Procedure
  • Delivering acceptance documentation
  • Project snagging
  • Systems documentation creation, management, change tracking
  • Convert proposals response to project deliverables
  • Managing site work including Health and Safety, RAMS, First Aid to current process

SKILLS REQUIRED


  • MS Office - Specifically Excel
  • AutoCAD LT
  • Broad equipment configuration knowledge
  • Previous project delivery experience
  • Firm knowledge of broadcast systems and technology
  • Applicant must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the following areas; Planning, Quality Focus, resolving problems, Managing Processes, and Commercial Awareness
  • Applicant must be self-motivated, have strong timekeeping and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Full UK Driving License
  • UK Passport
  • Beneficial Skills, Qualification and Experience
  • MS Teams
  • MS Project / Smartsheet / other Gantt management software
  • MS Visio Pro
  • Project management qualification
  • Working within ISO9001 Environments
  • Operational Experience
