We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our team and work closely with a Visually Impaired Child in Year 1.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to a Visually Impaired Child, ensuring their full access to the curriculum and school activities.
- Adapt classroom materials and teaching methods to meet the child's specific needs.
- Assist with mobility and orientation around the school.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and record the child's progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Support the child in developing social skills and building positive relationships with peers.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with Visually Impaired Children is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build a strong rapport with young children.
- A proactive and flexible approach to meeting the child's needs.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs (desirable).
