Our growing Southern tax team is seeking an experienced candidate to join as a Tax Director. Our tax team specialises in advising local and international businesses on managing their tax affairs in the UK and abroad.
It's an extremely unique and exciting time to join the team as PwC continues to invest and build out the Cambridge Tax team working together jointly, providing a seamless exceptional tax .
About The Role
Expand your career as Tax Director based in our Cambridge office, where you will work collaboratively with the tax team to provide services to existing clients and new.
The role will allow you the opportunity to work within the UK tax technical and national network, therefore having unfettered access to UK tax specialists, enabling you to service your clients with robust value add tax advice. You will bring and gain significant and varied experience in building a business and advising. This role will oversee the breadth of middle market clients including, family owned businesses, private equity portfolio companies, mid cap and inbound companies and scale up/start up business on a broad range of complex matters.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely and manage senior stakeholders including Partners and Directors across the tax networks.
  • Responsible for developing new client relationships, identifying and pursuing new opportunities from within our market including market activation.
  • Build a diverse portfolio of client engagements, including large corporate businesses, private equity portfolio companies and family offices and start ups.
  • Private Business tax focus - work with a variety of clients and lead projects, introducing the relevant specialists as appropriate.
  • Develop market leading relationships with both our key clients (including many well-known household names) and internal stakeholders, collaborating across the firm when developing client relationships or delivering complex projects.
  • Subject Matter Expert - an expert level of relevant tax knowledge, remain up to date with technical developments including changes in tax law and legislation, such that you can advise clients and internal stakeholders on the latest tax technical issues, including delivering sessions at client / knowledge events.

Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will possess expert tax knowledge and the proven ability to work collaboratively with various tax professionals to provide world class tax advice to clients;
  • ACA and/or CTA or equivalent qualified
  • Relevant and up-to-date UK Tax knowledge - varied experience of more complex tax issues facing both locally and internationally owned businesses and private equity portfolio companies.
  • Proven experience of business development - new and existing clients or gaps in the market to create profitable opportunities/value propositions for tax services.
  • Previous project management experience
  • Senior stakeholder management - both internal and external.
  • Efficient use of technology in managing client and contact relationships, pursuing opportunities and overseeing the delivery of analysis and written deliverables.
  • Previous experience of scaling efficiencies and continuous improvement/new ways of working across multiple projects and environments to dedicated timelines
  • Proven leadership experience
