 We are looking for a Tax Manager to join this independent Firm in Cornwall. 

You will  provide support to the Managers and Partners by undertaking tax research, preparing reports and providing assistance with marketing the Firm in addition you will also be required to review tax work prepared by colleagues. 

 Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide:
  • personal tax advice on a wide range of assignments including inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax;
  • advice on a range of transactions including pre-sale structuring, corporate reorganisations and demergers;
  • original and creative thinking to solve tax problems, frequently leading to providing wholly bespoke tax advice and solutions on one-off assignments;
• Meeting and liaising with clients in connection with their tax matters.
• Assisting the firm to meet compliance obligations including preparing tax computations and returns.
• Make a significant contribution to the firm’s practice development in terms of the retention and attraction of clients and the development and marketing of specialist services, including the involvement in networking, seminars and events and press activity
• Working with colleagues – with particular regard to complex personal taxes, unincorporated business taxes and capital taxes; providing advice on / reviewing client problems / planning; reviewing complex computations; reviewing specific tax sensitive transactions
• Maintain a high level of current and relevant technical knowledge for the performance of your own client matters as well as for the dissemination of information to other partners and staff in the firm
• Understands the commercial implications of actions relating to productivity, recoverability, fee income and client service including reviewing costs, budgets and billing clients
• Attending management meetings and any work that comes from the meeting
