We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our team of talented professionals and lead the Manchester based tax team. Your role is instrumental in driving tax compliance and the statutory reporting cycle for Corporate tax, VAT & Excise returns in the UK group and overseas subsidiaries. Your remit is to undertake risk-based reviews to support process improvements and the annual submission of the Senior Accounting Officer certificate.
As our next Tax Manager, you'll be leading a team of 3 people, with yourself having 3 direct reports. You will be responsible for ensuring robust tax control and reporting within the team. Your remit will be to drive tax compliance and process improvements.
To excel in this role, you'll need to be a meticulous person with an excellent eye for detail. This role requires an individual who can meet deadlines and stay calm under pressure. The Key Requirements...
Corporate Tax
• Preparation of UK corporate tax returns and management of submission of overseas tax returns
• Improve processes to improve efficiency of corporate tax compliance
• Undertake tax planning to ensure tax assets are optimised
• Support the annual sign off the Senior Accounting Officer certificate
Tax Reporting
• Tax reporting and accounting for the UK Group, undertaking annual review of deferred tax assets
• Tax reporting and accounting for the individual subsidiaries
Indirect Tax Returns (VAT, Customs Duties and Excise Tax Returns)
• Review of monthly VAT and Excise tax returns for the UK and Ireland
• Undertake risk-based reviews of customs duties paid in Ireland
• Review quarterly GST returns for Australia
PAYE
• Review PAYE Settlement Agreement calculations prior to submission
• Review data for Taxed Award Scheme and prepare HMRC submission
• Support Company Secretarial to complete and submit share scheme returns
Please note: This role is Hybrid with a 50/50 split between home and the office with flexibility to be in the office more, when needed. Also, you will be required to travel to our Head Office in St Albans for a day or two every 6-8 weeks.
