Taxi Dispatcher

Smart Solutions have an exciting opportunity on behalf of our UK industry leading client for an experienced Taxi Dispatcher to join their team based in Shrewsbury on a permanent basis! The role involves the day-to-day interaction with customers and drivers . You will also be expected to ensure a high level of efficiency and compliance is maintained and executed correctly.

Hours: Nights between 6pm to 6am.

Duties of Taxi Dispatcher:

• Responding promptly and courteously to telephone bookings to all customers, capturing accurate information in a timely manner.
• Delivering an excellent service whilst meeting and exceeding company targets to drive customer satisfaction.
• Allocating and dispatching jobs on the booking system, communicating efficiently with the drivers.
• Excellent communication with passengers, drivers and relevant staff, interpreting and responding clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instruction.
• Ensuring that all passenger and account payments are processed efficiently and in accordance with company procedures.
• On the spot problem solving; resolving issues and queries relating to bookings.

Requirements of the Taxi Dispatcher:

• Experience within a similar transport role.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisation skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
• Ability to multitask and prioritise numerous conflicting priorities
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
• Highly organised and methodical
• Excellent Customer Service skills with calm and professional approach
• Permanent employment is conditional on having a satisfactory DBS check.
